Bedford Village Flower Shoppe
Hospital Flower Delivery in Westchester and Fairfield County

Bedford Village Flower Shoppe has been designing get well flowers for local families for seven years, from our shop at 634 Old Post Road in Bedford. Every arrangement that goes to a patient room is built by hand in that shop.
We deliver to hospitals, medical centers, rehabilitation hospitals, behavioral health campuses, birth centers and long term care residences across northern Westchester, Putnam County and lower Fairfield County, most often the same day you order.
We are a working flower shop, not an order gatherer. Our own drivers make these runs, so they already know which entrance takes deliveries at Northern Westchester, where to park at Greenwich, and which floors have restrictions.
Need flowers delivered to a patient today? Order online by 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, or by noon on Saturday, for same day hospital delivery. You can also call us at 914-234-7180.
Same Day Delivery to Westchester and Fairfield Hospitals
When someone you love is admitted, flowers are one of the few things you can send that make a hospital room feel human again. We deliver to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, Westchester Medical Center and Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, White Plains Hospital, Phelps in Sleepy Hollow, Putnam Hospital in Carmel, and across the state line to Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Danbury.
Because every arrangement is designed in our own shop, we can match the situation instead of pulling a stock item off a shelf. A long stay calls for something different than a new baby on the maternity floor, and a low fragrance plant is usually the smarter choice for oncology, transplant or respiratory patients. Tell us who it is for and our designers will build something that works in that room.
How Hospital Delivery Works
Step 1
Choose an arrangement online, or call the shop and let our designers create something specific to the patient.
Step 2
Give us the patient’s full legal name, the hospital, and the room or unit number if you have it.
Step 3
Our driver hand delivers and follows the hospital’s protocol, which is usually the front desk, volunteer services or a central receiving point.

What to Send to a Hospital Room

Get Well Flowers
A compact, bright arrangement that arrives already in a vase, ready to set on a bedside table. Keep it small. Hospital rooms have very little surface space, and a piece that has to be moved twice a day rarely survives the stay.

Orchids and Plants
For a longer stay, or for a patient moving on to rehabilitation, a plant outlasts cut flowers and goes home with them afterward. Plants are also the safest choice whenever fragrance is a concern on the floor.

New Baby Gifts
Delivering to a maternity unit at Northern Westchester, Greenwich or Stamford? Soft pinks, blues and whites travel well, photograph beautifully in the room, and are easy for a family to carry home on discharge day.
What to Avoid
Skip heavily scented flowers such as stargazer lilies for oncology, transplant and respiratory patients. Fresh flowers and live plants are generally not permitted in intensive care, coronary care, neonatal intensive care, burn units, or on many transplant floors. If you are not sure what the unit allows, call us at 914-234-7180 before you order and we will check.
Hospital Delivery Policies You Should Know
- Full names and room numbers. Hospitals file by patient name, not by sender. A full legal name and a room or unit number get the arrangement upstairs faster, and in some buildings they are the difference between a delivery and a return trip.
- Where deliveries actually go. Most hospitals route flowers through the main lobby, volunteer services or a central receiving desk. Staff carry the arrangement to the room from there, so the exact hand off time is theirs, not ours.
- Discharged patients. If the patient goes home before our driver arrives, we will call you to redeliver to a home address or hold the arrangement at the shop. We will not leave it at a nurses’ station and hope.
- Restricted units. If the floor does not accept flowers, we call you before we leave Bedford rather than making a wasted trip. Usually we suggest sending to the family’s home instead, or waiting until discharge.
- Same day cutoff. Order by 3:00 PM Monday through Friday or by noon on Saturday. We are closed Sundays. If you are running late, call the shop, because we can often still make it happen.
- Planning a service instead? See our funeral and sympathy flower delivery page for the funeral homes and cemeteries we deliver to.

Hospital Flower Delivery FAQs
Can you deliver flowers to a hospital today?
Usually yes. Order online or call 914-234-7180 by 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, or by noon on Saturday, and we will get it there the same day. We are closed on Sundays. If you are calling after the cutoff, still call. We can often work something out, especially for hospitals close to Bedford.
What information do I need to send flowers to a patient?
The patient’s full legal name, the hospital, and the room or unit number if you have it. Nicknames slow things down, because hospital reception looks up the name on the chart. If you do not know the room number, give us the unit or the admitting department and we will work with the front desk.
Are flowers allowed in the ICU?
Usually not. Most intensive care, coronary care, neonatal and burn units prohibit fresh flowers and live plants, and many transplant floors do as well. If the patient is in one of those units, the better move is to send to the family’s home, or to hold the arrangement until they are transferred to a regular floor. Call us and we will help you decide.
What happens if the patient is discharged before the flowers arrive?
We call you. From there we can redeliver to the patient’s home address, hold the arrangement at the shop for pickup, or reschedule for a day that works. Nothing gets abandoned at the hospital.
Should I send flowers or a plant?
For a short stay, cut flowers are the warmer gesture and they brighten the room immediately. For a stay of more than a few days, or a move to rehabilitation, a plant or an orchid is the better choice. It travels home with the patient and keeps going long after the flowers would have finished.
What makes Bedford Village Flower Shoppe different from an online flower service?
We are an actual shop in Bedford, and every arrangement is designed here by our own team. Our owner and lead designer, Lauren Chillemi, is a Master European Floral Designer and personally trains every designer on staff through a four level curriculum. Our own drivers make the hospital runs. And every arrangement carries our 96 hour guarantee, with a full refund if you are not happy, no questions asked.
